I love this so much. I like to think that growing in the middle of the chaos is an act of defiance. It flies in the face of all the hate spewed by so many. "There's not room for you here. You're too much. You don't fit in. You don't belong." We all belong, simply because we exist. May the beauty of our existing, despite it all, give us grace to persevere in the dark.

"Spending time in the dark allows the plant to venture further than it ever would if it stayed only in the light." Beautiful. As always, I'm grateful for your words and perspective 💛

Oh Sarah, this is beautiful. I often describe artists as those who notice flowers growing in the cracks of sidewalks (that is actually my next tattoo, hopefully! 😜). These words will stay with me for a while. ❤️

Writing about flowers is cool in my book. I learnt too - about the metaphor and about actual flowers 🌼

The quiet and unobtrusive defiance is the best kind 😉 Beautiful piece. I’m convinced the flowering weeds that grow in the sidewalk cracks are just there to demand their rightful attention. And maybe boring, but I’ll read about plants any day; Mother Nature is the best analogy.

Love that! Yes I think they're there to demand our attention too <3
